Igor Sokolov has over 20 years of expertise in commercial and administrative disputes, cross-border litigation, and international commercial arbitration.
His experience includes major disputes in construction, real estate, lease, environmental and labour safety matters, insurance and reinsurance, aviation incidents, product liability, as well as IP disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Igor worked in the dispute resolution practice of a major international law firm.

Experience
- Russian subsidiary of an international bank – representing the client in a complex cross-border dispute involving international sanctions and Russian counter-sanction regulations.
- Major hotel operator in Russia – representing the client as a defendant in arbitral proceedings. The case was won, securing RUB 400m for the client.
- Ingosstrakh – defending the client’s interests in several arbitrations under the ICAC Rules regarding recovery of insurance indemnity under a D&O Liability Insurance Policy.
- AlfaStrakhovanie – representation of the client’s interests in a complex process of settling an insurance and reinsurance event in connection with the crash of a private jet at Vnukovo Airport with a total claim value of EUR 40m+, including litigation between various participants in the incident and between insurance companies.
- Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNRC) – representing the client’s interests in a dispute regarding the recovery of insurance compensation in connection with an accident at a Russian metallurgical plant.
